Consumer’s Ability to “Opt-Out”

The “Privacy Notice” must explain to the Consumer that they have the opportunity to ‘Opt-Out’.

  • “Opting Out” means that the Consumer can say “No” to allowing their information to be shared with Affiliated and/or Non-affiliated parties.

The FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) is responsible for the ‘Opt-Out’ opportunity, but the “Privacy Notice” must inform the Consumer of this right under the GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act).
